Why would someone say that the Yoast plugin has gone “woke”?

Via “Ask David”:
“I am looking for a website builder with SEO built-in, so we’re choosing UltimateWB. But I came across a review for a popular WordPress SEO plugin, Yoast SEO, and the reviewer says they’re cancelling their Yoast Premium subscription because Yoast went far left and is ‘putting out on the internet offensive content,’ promoting ‘woke crap.’ I couldn’t find anything about this online. Any idea why? P.S. To me, being ‘woke’ means being respectful of others

Heads Up: “Special” Domain Name Price Increases Coming August 26, 2025

Starting August 26, 2025 at 14:00 UTC, the registries behind a group of specialty domain extensions (TLDs) are raising their wholesale prices. Since registrars purchase domains from the registries, these increases flow through to the end customer. Kind of like Trump's USA tariffs.
The good news: this doesn’t affect the classics like .com, .net, or .org. The change is focused on niche, premium-style domains such as .xyz, .beauty, .ceo, .lol, and others.
That means whether you’re registering, renewing, or

Should You Still Disavow Toxic Backlinks in 2025?

SEO strategies come and go, but one question still lingers: is it worth disavowing toxic backlinks? With Google’s algorithm becoming increasingly sophisticated at recognizing spammy or manipulative link patterns, many marketers and webmasters are rethinking their approach to disavow files.
On the surface, disavowing unwanted links might feel like a proactive move - an easy way to “clean up” your link profile. But how necessary is it today, really?

Just months after Claude’s so-called “blackmail” stunt fueled fears about agentic AI models, the web is facing another wave of rogue behavior. This time, Perplexity AI is under fire for sneaking past website blocks, disguising its bots, and scraping content without permission. While Claude sparked debates about AI ethics and control, Perplexity highlights a more widespread, everyday threat to publishers: unconsented content harvesting at massive scale.
Ignoring Robots.txt
Cloudflare, which recently expanded into bot management, reported that Perplexity’s crawlers often
