Google antitrust verdict opens up competition

September 2025 brought a huge update in the long-running antitrust battle with Google. The verdict? Google isn’t getting split up - so Chrome and Android are sticking around under the same roof - but the company does have to give up some of the “exclusive” deals that helped it stay the default search engine pretty much everywhere. On top of that, it’s going to have to share more data with competitors.

Alphabet’s New Structure and Domain Strategy

Google has officially become a subsidiary of Alphabet, its new holding company.  After U.S. markets closed last Friday, Alphabet replaced Google as the publicly traded company, consisting of Google search, Adsense, Google Maps, YouTube, and other new ventures such as driverless cars.  Alphabet chose a new tld for their website, abx.xyz, but they are still making similar domain name purchases.  They just recently purchased the "full alphabet", domain name that is,  Abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz.com.  Yes, each

Why use “WWW” for your website?

www-domain You have 2 options for the url display of your website - with the "www" in the beginning, or without the "www", otherwise known as a "naked domain".  That terminology itself might persuade you to lean towards the "www" version for your website, and it's actually a pretty good portrayal of the domain not having as much protection from the elements as one with the "www".

Google’s new Parent Company, Alphabet, opts for new tld: abc.xyz

g-icon This week Google announced that it will now be operating under a newly created parent company, named Alphabet.  Alphabet will be run by Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin - Page as CEO and Brin as president.  And Google's new CEO will be Sundar Pichai.
