“I don’t care, I love it!”

You ask one of your family members/friends how they like such and such about your website.  They don’t seem to have the same enthusiasm about it as you.  You thought they would share in the awesomeness of your website, but they don’t.  So you have a couple of choices: take their “constructive criticism” about how you should change it to look “better”, ask someone else to make a poll of who agrees and who doesn’t, or…trust yourself, go with your gut, and say “I don’t care, I love it!”

“Icona Pop” played their song ‘”I Love It!” (with the catchy lyrics “I don’t care, I love it!”) as the guest djs on the Ellen Degeneres Show this week.  It is really catchy…and a great song to dance to too.   It is relatable – how many times have you gotten feedback that doesn’t match yours, and though you are grateful for the feedback, still think “I don’t care, I love it! I love it!” and decide to keep it as it is.  In web design, it is good to be unique, just also make sure you KISS it – keep it simple.  Clean design is good design.  Get your message across.
