Wix is a hosted website builder. They have their website builder on their own servers, and offer you an admin panel to create your website. You have to keep paying their monthly fees or your website goes offline. Other examples are Weebly, Shopify, and VistaPrint.
The other type of website builder is one where you can host where you want and save your website files – like WordPress (if you download it, not the cloud hosting) and UltimateWB (you have the option to host there or somewhere else).
