You can do it with UltimateWB. Use the built-in e-commerce app if you want to sell a subscription, along with the members app if it’s a member subscription. UltimateWB also has a built-in mailing list app you can use for users to opt-in to a mailing list. Then you can send out mailers to your mailing list subscribers.

That is very easy to do with UltimateWB. It has all the features you need built-in, and it’s very customizable. You could use the social networking app to create the sign up/login forms, and edit profile/profile pages . You can charge for membership, or charge for membership into a member group, using the e-commerce app. You can restrict access to members/certain member groups for certain parts of your website from the manage pages section of your website admin panel.
