All I need is a website to post my CD's, CD pics, a little history about them and let people download my music for free whoever might like it.

You can do this with UltimateWB.

It is easiest with the Full version because it has the Audios/Music app, where you can organize your music as a directory, and post info on it and a photo. An audio player appears on the page with a download link on the player, when the user clicks on the dots on the side of the player.

You can see the directory setup for this app there. If there is a feature you don't see that you need, please let us know. You mentioned that you want to upload pics - is that one per cd, or more than one?

Alternatively, you can also do it with a lower software version. At least the Lite version is recommended so that you have the Photo Gallery/Slideshows app, Documents Manager and Mailing List app. You can compare features in the chart at: https://www.ultimatewb.com/compare-ultimatewb (Features > Compare Features from the top navigation menu).

In the versions other than the Full version, there is no Audio app, however, you can create the pages how you want and embed the audio files code. You can upload your music files via the Documents Manager in the admin panel, or directly from your web hosting control panel. There is a lot more work and coding this way though....you will need to embed audio code to the Ad(d)s app, and embed that to your pages, rather than the Audios/Music app taking care of that for you. But if you are tight on budget and would like to go with this method, we can provide you with the audios code template that you would need to use.

     All I really need is something simple...Post CD pic...1 for each CD (6) at the moment. A place to click to play and download for the looker.

I'm not charging for these, just like to share my music with friends.

I'm retired, so the more cost effective the better.

I hope this explains it a little better as to what I would need to do all these things.

The most cost effective way would be to go with UltimateWB Pro Unlimited, for the $34 flat fee, with the UltimateWB Basic web hosting plan which is under $5/month. Long term that would cost less than the UltimateWB Cloud plans, which combine access to the website builder with web hosting, starting at $10/month for the Essentials+ version. 

It sounds like you don't care about having the sitemap generator, which requires at least the Lite version.

We can help you with the steps involved to create your webpages, and sample code for the audio players, for you to input into the Ad(d)s app, and then take the Placeholder Text generated from there and paste into your webpage. You would also need to manually upload your audio files via your web hosting control panel. Again, we can write out the steps for you and provide free tech support. What is your total size of the audio files? These plans mentioned are for 250 mb total. Guessing that would be good.
