Problem making drop down menus

like all my parent pages feel like they refuse to make drop down menu's i dont get it at all... i select the page i want in the parent page and it doesnt make a menu button

Please make sure that the Link Position on the Edit Page is set to "Menu Tabs" - not "Footer Links" or "Other".
